How Apps Changed the Entertainment Industry

If there's one thing that modern society loves, it's entertainment. And, because we equally love smartphones and convenience, it only makes sense that Android apps would make their way into the entertainment industry. From artists to television shows, there are several ways that a mobile app can enhance the overall experience of the viewer or help the artist increase their market visibility. The same effect was not noticed when social networking first began to make headway into our communication methodology. When musicians, artists, comedians, or actors have the ability to establish relationships with fans, the marketing benefits become incredibly pleasant. There are several ways to market entertainment, but when you combine the cost-effective nature of apps and their usage versus standard strategies, there is no doubt that we are witnessing a significant change in the way we view marketing.

Artists and Musicians

Many artists and musicians are funding their own endeavors, which makes the use of Android apps an important tool in their success. Because they do not have the funding that larger artists with financial backing may have, they can maintain the same connection with fans through the use of mobile applications. Media players and interactive notification systems are very important to artists everywhere. Fans want to meet the performers or visit art shows, but if they do not know where they are going or when the events are being held, they probably will not show up.

Interactive Television

Applications have made their way into the television industry, as well. We've all seen popular talent shows use SMS technology to allow viewers to decide who gets voted off of the show. Things are being taken a step further, however, as application users for specific channels or shows can get exclusive footage, sneak previews of upcoming episodes, or enjoy interactive elements within the shows themselves. This kind of connection is heightening the relationship between entertainers and the people that watch the shows, and is only fueling the massive growth that the Android app industry is currently witnessing.

What makes the mobile application incredibly useful in entertainment is the various creation platforms that are available today. Companies like Andromo are giving individuals the ability to create applications that their fan-bases can download and install instantly. This helps the artist develop a kinship with the individuals that appreciate their works, and allows the performer to offer up the same conveniences that greater, or better funded, artists can. This levels the playing field and brings another key point to the forefront: do the advances in technology ensure that the most talented individuals rise to the top? That may be a stretch, but it definitely allows those that are willing to create the applications to see success without record labels or television syndication.

The entertainment industry continues to utilize mobile advances to its advantage. Independent artists and musicians are able to mobilize fan-bases and generate ticket or product sales through the smartphones of their followers. From the largest television shows to the most novice of artists, the tools of the marketing trade are beginning to make their way into the hands of everyone who deems them important or necessary. Because consumers continue to prove that mobile Android apps are one of the more convenient methods of interaction, any group can benefit from the creation of an app that either re-creates an experience for the user or somehow enhances the entertainment already being delivered. The entertainment industry can be incredibly fickle, and to ensure that viewers or fans remain interested, it can be prudent to somehow create an "on demand" scenario. Media viewers and players can give them your creations when they see fit – let them access your work and you'll unduly benefit!
