Hasbro Announces Toy Crowdfunding Platform With 4-Foot Jabba’s Barge Model

Hasbro’s HasLab crowdfunding platform is like Kickstarter for cool toys, and first up is Jabba’s Sail Barge, weighing in at 14lbs.

HasLab “hopes to bring dream products into the hands of fans” with new models that are “trophy items in significance and size”.

If the campaigns are fully funded by the end date, the products will move into production, and release exclusively to backers – for now. If the goal isn’t reached, backers won’t be charged.

Jabba’s Sail Barge, The Khetanna, is the first Haslab project and will be 4-foot long and a whopping 14lbs. It’ll cost you $500 to back the project, which has a cutoff date of April 13. Jabba’s Barge needs a minimum of 5,000 backers to become a reality.

As generous in size as Jabba’s own physique, the set is part of the Vintage Collection, and will accommodate 3.75-inch figures – including Jabba himself – in its bowels, which you can access via removable side panels.

If fully-funded, expect it to sail into your postbox in February, 2019.
