Why the Motorola Droid is King of All the Android Phones

The Android phone market is rife with consumer related commentary. Some of this commentary is positive and some of it is not. In many cases the negative commentary can become quite inflammatory in regards to the verbal hatred, bile, and vitriol spewed forth from some individuals. The reason for all the commotion is simple. Some individuals feel Android phones are exactly what was promised and that they are superior to the Apple based products that were already on the market. The other side of that argument notes that the android operating system and the usage of it would have been better served by not trying to come off as an Apple "knock off".

While there are a few similarities between the two products the Android powered phones on the market are quite different from the iPhones of the world. While this is obvious to many it is not so obvious to others. Beyond the iPhone and Android similarity debates there is the fact that many Android phones are garnering negative reviews compared to each other. The Nexus One, for instance, is cited as being flimsy and prone to breaking if it is not valued with kid gloves.

There are other negative comments based on many Android phones as well. The keyboards break easily on some. The touch screens on others are slow or unresponsive. The list goes on. The only Android phone that has repeatedly proven itself against all naysayers and comers is the Motorola Droid. While this device does have a few minor issues the company that markets the mobile device, Motorola, had the good business sense to actually perform product testing that mattered before it was initially released to the public.

While it is not perfect, no mobile phone is and that includes the Apple phones as well. Droid Phone is a cut above the rest in actual construction. The design is solid and there are many stories of people that have actually gone as far as accidently running over their phone and it remained in reasonable working order. Sometimes it only had minor functionality but what would not be a little damaged after a multi-ton vehicle rolled across it?

There is a tendency to rush products to market in the consumer electronics niche. This has lead to operating systems that are flawed and require multiple patches to fix. This has lead to shoddy construction that a single moment were the grip on the device is lost ends up having it shatter upon impact with the ground. This has also lead to poor quality battery design that allows for poor usage outside of a building with a wall socket.

These are all issues of recent android phones and iPhone updates alike. However, the Motorola Droid continues to have solid performance, effective and efficient upgrades that have been properly tested, and a material construction that is nothing short of amazing. There is no doubt that even with all the competition the Motorola Droid truly is the king of the Android phones.
