How to Run Windows On Your Mac

Many people who use the OS X operating systems need to use Windows for various reasons. Some people have to use programs that are only compatible with Windows computers, but still enjoy the functionality of their Mac. People talk about dual booting multiple operating systems on their computers, or using Apple's approved Bootcamp to run Windows on an Apple computer. These people simply have not heard of the Parallels software for OS X.

Parallels Desktop 7 allows you to run Windows natively within OS X as its own window. This amazing software permits you to still use all the great features of OS X, while still being able to run your required Windows apps within its own dedicated window. All other software, including Bootcamp, requires the user to reboot the entire computer each time they want to use either OS X or Windows. This can be a problem and extremely time consuming when having to switch back and forth. With Parallels, you can do all of your tasks in OS X, then simply open up your Parallels window to use your Windows programs.

This is a complete virtualization solution to running multiple operating systems. Parallels requires no reboot, no shut down, and no downtime while switching. Windows is always running in the background while Parallels is open, so you always have easy access. Not only that, but you can even swap files from one operating system of another. Parallels is simply the best virtualization and automation software solution for all Mac users looking to use Windows without purchasing a separate computer.

Parallels Desktop 7's enhancements include support for the new OS X Lion's full-screen mode and Mission Control interface, as well as support for the AES-NI encryption standard for Windows, and easier sharing of printers.

Parallels even made a $ 20 Parallels iOS app on the Apple App Store that lets you access both Mac OS X and Windows files, as well as the under Mac OS X, from an iPad or iPhone! The previous Parallels app for iPhone and iPad did that just for Windows virtual machines. Of course, virtual desktop clients for running Mac OS X on iOS are easy to find, and there are good free ones, so the main value of Parallels' enhanced iOS app is the unified virtual desktop. This new mobile version of the software lets you control both Mac and Windows virtual machines, instead of just Windows VMs in the current versions. You'll also have access to audio pass-through, and you are able to copy and paste information from your Windows virtual machine directly to your clipboard on your iOS device! This makes Parallels even more useful than it ever has been.
