Pros and Cons in Our Objective Dell Latitude E4200 Review

The Dell Latitude E4200 is one of the most stylish laptops we have ever tested. Its elegant lines and modern look caught our attention immediately! This is why we ordered one, to test it and see if its hardware is up to the task. We know our readers need to see hard facts and test results; this is why we test all our laptops thoroughly and write unbiased reviews. This is why you are reading this Dell Latitude E4200 review, and more will come. Here is how the E4200 performed in our tests and our opinions.

We started testing its most important hardware component, the central processing unit (commonly referred to as the CPU). We were relatively happy with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor working at a speed of 1.6 GB, on a front side bus (FSB) of 800 MHz, and on an L3 cache of 3 MB. In our Dell Latitude E4200 review, the processor, due to its good performance and having passed all our intensive tests, receives 9 out of 10 points. We had to give it 9 because there are a few laptops that offer slightly faster processors in the same price range.

Next on our list was the memory and hard disk drive (commonly referred as the HDD). For our Dell Latitude E4200 review, we started by testing the random access memory (RAM) and found 5 GB of DDR3 RAM working at a speed of 800 MHz. Although the memory uses DDR3 technology and one can find plenty of it, the speed is penalized and the memory receives only 9 out of 10 points. Next, the hard disk drive thrilled us by being solid state, but left us hanging when we noticed it was only 64 GB in size. This wasn’t large enough to accommodate our media files, not to mention games and documents. We give if 7 out of 10 points because we consider size to be more important than the technology used.

Our Dell Latitude E4200 review needed the video card part, which is one of the most important parts of any computer, so we tested it and found a good Intel GMA 4500 MHD integrated graphics processing unit (otherwise known as a GPU). Although the graphic card is able to output clear, crisp, and bright graphics on the nifty 12.1 inch WXGA display (with LED Backlight technology), it is definitely unable to run the latest titles in the gaming industry. In our Dell Latitude E4200 review, we give the integrated GMA 4500 card 9 out of 10 points.
